I just received an alert from my credit card co saying they have found my SSN on the dark web. What should I do? I know I should put a freeze on credit reports and probably get a copy prior to make sure there is no fraudulent activity. One source says to contact the SSA and IRS. Is that really necessary? Any advice on this is very much appreciated.

I’d call your credit card company from their customer service # (not anything the email/text provided you) and verify if you want to double check though.
