Just out of curiosity, how do thieves get a modern vehicle started? It’s not like the olden days when “hot wiring” was easy or you could go through the steering column with a screw driver.

They can probably start a car now days easier than the screwdriver method was back in the day.

Here in Houston I think its not a felony anymore to steal a vehicle, it was giving their voter base a felony records.

People don’t use Lojack anymore, supposed to alarm you and people, including the police. if moves 5’ without the fob in the truck. They’re also supposed to be able to shut your truck down.Last edited by Hoytbowhunter; 08-14-2020, 07:54 AM.

I’ve never had a truck stolen. How does the insurance work? I bought it new in 2018 and put a ton down on it. Been working my butt off since I bought it to get it paid off. I only owe about $10k on it. I’m assuming It’ll be the depreciated value, subtract what I owe and I get the rest? Just trying to figure out how bad I’m going to be hosed on this

If the value is higher than 30k, then it is a Third degree felony.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle is also state jail felony.
