That’s because it’s harder to take one with a bow with a spotlight in hand
I’ve hunted East Tx my whole life & our place is just thick bottomland & can just be flat out hard to hunt with good visibility without putting in some work to clear lanes. Deer can slip in right on top of you without noticing them. I’ve taken a few with my bow. Mostly gun hunt now days. I still enjoy just sitting in the woods

LMAO, dude is a tank. I believe he's 8 this year but seeing how I've only had the pasture he's in 4 years obviously it's a guess.

I agree with you 100%. I will put Hill Country deer in the same category as the east Texas.

I've hunted several ranches down south (and hunt there now) and it is easy compared to east/hill country. Not only can you get away with murder when the deer are around, when you shoot, they stand still and take it like a man. Where I hunt in the Hill Country, you better aim at their ankles the way they duck.

Hard for me to judge age on deer down there but if he was in east tx he would be 2.9.

You know what they say about trimming the bushes around a deck.....same goes for small "deer" too.
