Never been to Lincoln, but the deer at FP are leery as hell of everything. They will spook from too much corn in an open place.

But....my son had a buddy that killed a 140s buck there while smoking a cigarette and the story began with “....and when I woke up, he was standing out there.......”

Ehhh I think it has to do more with hunting pressure. I hunt at my buddie's place down south in Duval county. Most people will say that this county is "shot out" by poaching, etc. and the deer do act like it. He used to hunt in the hill country in Utopia and has made the comment that he's never seen deer so dang skiddish like they are in Duval.

Most of the neighboring properties, including his, are small tracts of 200 acres or less and low fence.

I ran a camera in East Texas and they are much smarter. This is what I got ... here’s proof.

Hardest deer to kill are old East Tx does. And, their will to live after being shot is also tremendous.

South Texas deer recently made headlines.

Edit: Pointing out small bodies... racks on south Texas deer are gigantic.
