Sounds like a mighty hand watching over your Grandfather Hillary. Glad he is okay.

Thunder is rumbling on the southeast side of Conroe, sure hope it has some rain with it.

Been reading, just unable to respond to all between working job sites and packing to move. I'll catch up in a couple of weeks.

Movers will be here a week from tomorrow and 17 years on this property will be a bunch of great memories. As it turns out we will be hanging on to 15 acres as the folks only bought the house and 19. We will probably take it off the market when the listing expires in August and hang on to it for awhile.

We are leasing and moving onto 13 acres about 10 minutes north of Bryan. I will start designing our home once the move it done.

Bill check this thread in case you missed it.

I guess it worked...at least for now. I received a call from the company's HR department today inquiring about this and that and they mentioned an offer letter that will be forthcoming... Keep a few headed my way. Thanks.

Since my kids are off at camp, I have them on my mind even more than usual... Found this while backing up files... I hope you like it.

So I took my kids to Snuffers last night. We live very close to Snuffers Hamburgers on Greenville Ave. and drive by it frequently. Like any 7 year old, Blaine is very tuned to advertising. She reads the signs and sees the cars and once she gets a thought in her head like “let’s go to Snuffers” the idea does not die until it either happens or Dad says “no way”. Since there is nothing inherently wrong with going to Snuffers, off we go…

Blaine picks a booth in the corner and I start the hunt for a high chair for “NiNi”. At first, Blaine complains she is cold, and then she complains she is too hungry. NiNi does not want to sit in the high chair and fights till Dad distracts her with car keys, sugar substitute packets and napkins (all of which eventually find their way to the floor). Blaine decides she wants to sit next to Daddy and tries to climb over the table. NiNi dumps the better part of a salt shaker on the floor. At one point, she grabs a french fry, dips it in ketchup like her big sister does, and then throws it at me with a big smile on her face. Later, Blaine needs to go to the potty. All three of us head to the restroom because you can’t leave any of them anywhere. I get halfway to the restroom and realize my wallet is on the table in plain sight. Oh well. Blaine makes me go into the ladies room because the potty does not look right. Luckily, it’s a two-seater and the other stall is fine. NINi fidgets in my arms and wants to play with the coasters at the back bar. She twists till I have to set her down. Mercifully, Blaine gets out of the bathroom even though the spring loaded door is almost more than she can manage. When we get back to the table, NiNi has zero interest in the high chair and lets everyone in the building know that sitting in the chair is not going to be an option. I figure this is a battle I really don’t want to fight and let her stand in the booth. Somehow I manage to move everything on the table out of her reach while wolfing down my now cold hamburger in record time. Blaine complains she is too full. With a look of pity on his face, our waiter comes with the check. I over-tip out of guilt. I pick up most of the stuff on the floor, apologize for the mound of salt that Blaine is skating on and we head to the truck. People smile at us as we leave.

Next up, a stop at 7-11 for fresh milk. We head home for a diaper change, pajamas, teeth brushing and wind down even though both of them are wired. Blaine hammers me about her lost Ipod. She has lost it a half dozen times since she got it for Christmas and expects me to find it before she will consider sleep. I fear it is in the yard. That’s where I found it the last time. Hopefully it is not in the belly of my neighbor’s dog but the possibility is high. That boxer will eat flagstone. I have seen him do it.

At approximately 2:30 AM, NiNi cries out in her sleep so I retrieve her from her crib and put her in bed with me. A couple hours later, Blaine walks in from her room and asks if she can join us. The three of us don’t really fit in a full size bed, but I’m still glad I get to touch their hair and listen to them breathe. The dim light reveals their purity. For a brief second, I consider getting my camera out. In the next moment of improved clarity, I shake the feeling off while struggling to drift back to sleep… knowing the alarm will soon go off at 5:00.
