LONG! Short is worthless!

Long bed 8+, with ext-cab or more. I like the "needed" room in the bed for haul-n materials, and just about every thing else I can pack in it. If I need something smaller, I drive my itty-bitty car.
I once had a 2-1/4 ton with a steel 14 foot x 8 foot stake-bed for a personal vehicle. Worked it all the time too.

To me a long bed is a must if you have a tool box of any decent size...seems to me they have sacrificed bed space year after year for the larger growing interiors. There is hardly any space between the back of the cab before hitting the wheel well. I think the long bed crew cabs (especially on the 1/2 ton) trucks are way more eye appealing and better balanced with a normal size tool box.
The short bed crews only allow for a vary narrow box before it hits the wheel wells that looks silly IMO. You can get on that fits over them but way too shallow.
