The best thing to do when you start thinking about how much you spend on hunting, on the deer lease, and everything else is to decide to buy a ranch. Decide to buy a small ranch, say 150 acres - a ranch many on this board would say is too small to hunt.
By the time you tally up what you'd spend per year on your small ranch, even $5000 a year for a top-notch deer lease will seem like a bargain. If you want to make $15,000/year for a lease sound good increase the acreage of your small ranch to 1000 acres. Deer leasin' don't sound quite so bad then.

This is exactly why my jaw dropped to the floor when the wife came to me and said that she wants a new bow Matthews passion and wants to hunt as well. So my billing my start doubling up by the end of the year if she's serious about it.
