$37.67 sounds about right. I'm gonna go with that number too.

-My deer lease is cheaper than that, so I guess I'm saving money.
-Wife should be happy with that. And that's what is important.
I can 1 up that. My wife smokes. That's about the same cost, so when she says something about my hunting expenses, I say, "It is cheaper than what you burn up every year, keeps me healthy, I share it with the kids, at the end of the year I still have a bunch of stuff besides cigarette butts and it puts gourmet meat on the table. When you stop smoking, we will discuss how much I spend on hunting." Now, if she ever stops smoking, I may be in a fix.

The best thing to do when you start thinking about how much you spend on hunting, on the deer lease, and everything else is to decide to buy a ranch. Decide to buy a small ranch, say 150 acres - a ranch many on this board would say is too small to hunt.

By the time you tally up what you'd spend per year on your small ranch, even $5000 a year for a top-notch deer lease will seem like a bargain. If you want to make $15,000/year for a lease sound good increase the acreage of your small ranch to 1000 acres. Deer leasin' don't sound quite so bad then.

                    No way, no how...

We have a don't ask, don't tell policy at our house. Hunting gear just shows up and it is all good. We just enjoy the time outdoors with family and friends.

This is exactly why my jaw dropped to the floor when the wife came to me and said that she wants a new bow Matthews passion and wants to hunt as well. So my billing my start doubling up by the end of the year if she's serious about it.

So far this year i have this hunt in may at the diamond c

                      Diamond C hunt
                      Hoyt carbon Matrix

these 2 alone is alot already and we're not to the taxi yet or deer season either.

DON'T DO IT! I tried that logic and now she just knits in the blind! It gets really annoying and always starts an argument when I spray her foo foo yarn with scent killer.
