Just wondering, has anyone ever put a pencil to the amount they spend on hunting per year? I figured it and it was ugly. You want something to put it in perspective, see what percent of your gross annual salary goes to hunting. Then look at the annual percent of your bring home.
I didn't think just a dollar figure gave a true read so I ran the percents.
I should probably spend less on hunting every year so I'm going to see if my wife will quit hunting. That should save some.

Yeah, just imagine DOUBLING that amount when you AND your spouse love the outdoors! Then you must have 2 of everything...it gets VERY expensive!

People just dont understand how I can "pay that much to kill a deer" Like smart said I quit thinking that way a long time ago. For what I pay I can take my family to the great outdoors, hunt, fish. swim sit around the campfire, be with good friends all year long.Now thats an entertainment value.

MAN, I don't even want to figure this out! I have two sons, Both Bow Hunt, Rifle Hunt, and Bird Hunt... So figure three bow set ups, three rifles, three shotguns, ammo, clothing, feed, oy yeah 3 feeders, mineral licks, scent control, new broadheads, calls (one boy is addicted to these things!) ... 4 wheel drive truck, trail cameras and the dang batteries those things eat up, DEER CORN (used to be the cheapest part of hunting), knives, boots, waders, processing meat, gas to and from, GEES I hope my wife doesn't see this!

I also fish a lot, have a 19ft Baystealth.... rods... I think I am getting dizzy!

Soon we will be adding all 3 of our children into the expensive part of the outdoors. My 20 month old already has 2 bows (toys) 2 shotguns (toys) an atv (toy) and all of his camo right down to the boots. Our daughters have all of the camo, real bows and all of the works. Things just keep getting more and more expensive but I wouldn't give up the family time for anything as long as it fits into the budget.

And to think, I want more children.
