Historically aligned with Republicans, the NRA may endorse Harry Reid in Nevada's hotly contested Senate race. And some conservative commentators are crying foul.

This is the most prominent one behind the NRA.
And they have about as much influence on legislation as I do on the rotation of the earth. Note that since they are virtually unknown outside us gun guys you don't hear the CNNs railing against the GOA.

He played a video from 1993 with Chuck Shumer and the NRA calling for mental health to be added to background checks...25 years ago....Shumer shook his hand and said he would push for it....

Without picking a side (and if I had to pick I will pick the guns), but let me say that with 50 years on this earth, I have never once “needed” an AR. I don’t know what neighborhood you live in or what lifestyle you are rolling to make you believe you “need” an AR?

                  Nothing will change.
It never has and never will.

I 100% agree with him that politicians on both sides don't give a **** about our kids.

                  Columbine was in 1999. 9/11 - 2011.

Since 9/11 they ramped up armed security at airports.
You can't get into a sporting event/concert without getting wanded down or searched.
In general places of business have ramped up security (on site/cameras) to protect themselves and maybe catch/deter crooks from seeing their establishment as an easy target.
Home security systems have become affordable and its more common to see these installed in residential properties for self protection/evidence gathering.

My three girls all go to middle school about a mile from my house. I guarantee I could walk into any of the 6 buildings on campus right now without any problems.

When my oldest started there in 6th grade the schools idea of security measures is to have the kids carry mesh/see through backpacks for their books on campus.

                  Impressive..

The "Need" argument is an extremely overused strawman and has no merit in the right of ownership of any possession.

You dont NEED to hunt. See how that works?

The Poster who you quoted was inferring that in the future, grandkids may possess a need to defend far more than just themselves..from an increasingly overbearing government, foreign attackers, or those that lay claim to what you possess.

I've never had a genuine 'NEED' for due process.

I've never had a "NEED' for the right to free speech

I hope I never 'NEED' an AR, but if I do,....

Maybe I am taking it out of context but did he in essence say at one point that our right to own and bear arms was from God???

Don't "need" a car either, a horse or bicycle will get you there. Cars kill how many per year?

This. The NRA leadership needs to be replaced. They were ready to sell us out immediately after the Vegas shooting.

That's the way the BOR is written and intended.

                                38,000 a year.

Roe v Wade has killed 60 million innocent kids.
