Their is no single item that caused health care to become so expensive. Many factors are involved. Obamacare, illegal immigration, Pharmaceutical, malpractice insurance, overhead cost....the list is to long to list.

It's a big mess that I don't see any fix anytime in the near future.

You got all the answers, and all the money, and you don't mind the fact that Obummercare cost folks that had great insurance before his debaucle(sp) much more than it promised we would save. And insured a whopping 20 million(actually more like 8 million because 12 million lost their exisiting insurance thanks to O) that didn't have insurance before IT WAS REQUIRED! My son was one of those 20 million, HE HAD INSURANCE BEFORE OBUMMERCARE WAS MANDATED, but lost his great insurance and had to get on OCARE.

They tried and had so much resistance they are going to let obamacare implode on it's own. Than they can remind the voters they tried but the obstructionist block their efforts at every turn. Once it implodes they can start with a new canvas to hopefully make health care insurance great again.

I was promised better insurance at a lower cost and could keep my doctors. That didn't happen. My cost have sky rocketed and my doctor encourages me to pay out of pocket for visits and keep insurance out of it.

Then ppl say "I lost my health insurance because of Obamacare"

When what they should be saying is "I became too expensive for my employer to insure so they kicked me off their policy and made me self insure"

No health insurance company is at risk of going bankrupt.
They are continually making money hand over fist.
But to keep their annual profits at 14% instead of 12.5% they will scapegoat Obamacare.

I'm serious, look at their 10-k
These insurance companies are making billions

Add to that $50k "durable medical devices" such as prosthetic limbs.
Or what about those insulin pumps for kids with Type 1 diabetes?
Those things weren't available when Reagan was president.
Or how about the ever increasing cost of the Epi pen?

There are just hundreds of things

Bottom line is, if you can't pay for services that you receive SOMEONE has to eat that cost.

The doctor doesn't want to eat it so he charges mite for his services so the others that do pay their bills absorb the cost.

Get your feelings out of it and look at it from a pure accounting perspective.
Being a "good hard working American" doesn't pay the surgeons malpractice insurance premiums.

the medical business is like no other - where else can you go get a service and then not pay your bills without getting sued, then the next guy who comes through the door gets hit with your bill...sounds legit.

if docs are forced to serve - the one forcing them should be the one paying the bills, not the next patron.

Golden eagle. Use the above link and read a few posts.
There is a post there that is a step by step guide on how to either not pay the medical sent at all, or have the collection agency/medical provider settle with you.

I've shared that with a few friends and it had surprisingly worked for them.
