They're a status symbol at this point. Are there other great coolers at lower prices? Yep. But they're not the original super cooler. Same thing with other items. Ex: a citizen watch and a cheap Casio both tell time the same, but people still buy that more expensive watch as a status symbol.

I just don't understand why people get on here every other day to bash yeti?

I went to school from first grade through the 12th grade with the creator of Yeti Coolers. He is one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. The jealousy on here for a company that came out of Texas is pretty mind-blowing. Nobody makes you buy them, yet they have managed to sell an unbelievable amount of them.
I personally am thrilled that anyone my age could accomplish something like that. Yes, I am biased. But you can't argue with success. Hell, everytime somebody bumps another Yeti thread up to complain about them is just more free advertising.
I love capitalism. That's why I get out of bed in the morning.

Many of the same people bashing Yeti have no problem buying top of the line guns and bows. Yeti was first and they were smart by keeping prices set. The North Face did that for years and now they have competition and they are priced much lower. I agree with the jealousy point. I am sure there are many on here that choose not to buy them but could afford it but many others can't. Anybody that likes the new style coolers should thank Yeti for developing an amazing new type of cooler and now the competition that lets people purchase more affordable coolers.
