The corn holed the market for many years. They also created the cooler craze and started a bunch of competition. I'll give them credit for that.

You have to love capitalism! Price equilibrium is occurring and fierce price drops. You have to love Walmart bringing Ozark Trails into competition for a reality check.

Congrats to Yeti being the first to create the market. They will still get paid by the others who knocked them off.

I went to school from first grade through the 12th grade with the creator of Yeti Coolers. He is one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. The jealousy on here for a company that came out of Texas is pretty mind-blowing. Nobody makes you buy them, yet they have managed to sell an unbelievable amount of them.
I personally am thrilled that anyone my age could accomplish something like that. Yes, I am biased. But you can't argue with success. Hell, everytime somebody bumps another Yeti thread up to complain about them is just more free advertising.
I love capitalism. That's why I get out of bed in the morning.

There are much better options out there at cheaper prices.

My cooler has:
beefier latches, with bottle openers
Solid handles
Rope handles
Thicker walls
Lifetime warranty
USA made
Cutting board
Beat all other brands during testing
Just looks better.

All for $240. Can't compare that to a yeti and expect to sell.

They're a status symbol at this point. Are there other great coolers at lower prices? Yep. But they're not the original super cooler. Same thing with other items. Ex: a citizen watch and a cheap Casio both tell time the same, but people still buy that more expensive watch as a status symbol.

Actually, I can't think of a single scientific comparison between Yeti and anybody where Yeti came out on top for ice storage. That includes the tumblers.
