247 reports that the "top brass" is pressuring Sumlin to produce a top 10 recruiting class . . Seems as if they are setting the table for better results or Heat now, fire later? . .

He will recruit well, he will grow the program and he will win!
I hated to see Strong be let go but after the losses to Kansas and TCU, it had to happen. Only time will tell but I like the odds that Herman is a good fit for the program. I just can't put my finger on why Strong's teams did not play with more passion!
I can't wait until September 2nd of next year to be a DKR for the first game of the 2017 season. Then a road trip to LA for the game against USC. That's going to be a tough one!

I have no delusions that he'd have taken less money to coach Texas, but that's the gig he really wanted. lsu got played.
This was a quote that I pulled from an Article back in September, right before UH beat OU...
Surrounded by enough football treasure to fill a bank vault, Herman sits up from his leather couch. Once again, he is being peppered with questions about his future—a familiar ritual for a coach in such high demand.
"It would take something unbelievable—some unbelievable opportunity—to leave," he says, tossing aside coach speak without an ounce of worry. "We're making Power Five money. We're recruiting Power Five kids.
The only critique I have of TH, is he is VERY thin skinned and does not deal with the media well when criticism starts. I imagine he will get a PR guy to help him in that arena, or maybe lean on Mack Brown? He owned this town for 2 seasons, because of his success. It will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure that will come along with being the HC at the "Flagship University in the GREATEST State in the Union!!!"
Momma Herman has already engaged in a Twitter battle with a former radio host from Houston, who was on a station that Herman "boycotted" because they speculated he was going to leave UH. They also broke the news about Kyle Allen last December, which turned out to be true.
You Texas fans will love him... I already miss him.

He's an alum from both.....good grief....
And was a GA under Mack.. plus he coached a lot of football in Texas. It really quite simple to understand without purple shades on.

CFB 2016 Week 14 Thread
Herman has coached in this state for 16 years and recruited the state for 20+ years. He can now walk into a high school as the head coach at the flagship program for the state. I think that's were the dream school stuff comes from. Most people consider Texas a Top 5, Top 10 job at worst type of place so it would be a dream job for a lot of coaches. He got his first big break as a GA at Texas and he and his family consider getting to "come home."
