Yes. And yes they are, but Herman really came across as a head case.

I agree with this. I don't think it means squat, but definitely wasn't TH's finest hour. It was funny as hell though

I'm sure he learned from it.

His wife sent Wright into a Twitter tirade last night.

This is exactly what I was referencing in my earlier post...

It will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure that will come along with being the HC at the "Flagship University in the GREATEST State in the Union!!!"

Momma Herman has already engaged in a Twitter battle with a former radio host from Houston, who was on a station that Herman "boycotted" because they speculated he was going to leave UH. They also broke the news about Kyle Allen last December, which turned out to be true.

You Texas fans will love him... I already miss him.
I have a feeling that Orlando will follow him to Texas after our Bowl Game. I doubt that he gets the HC gig @ UH.

I think they hire an offensive minded guy, not named Applewhite, and try and keep Orlando running our defense. Unfortunately, again, the DC job at Texas is better than the DC job UH, unless we pony up some major dough.

Why not Applewhite? I'm starting to wonder if he isn't forced to take a big step back in his career path. Sounds like he's not LSU's top choice and as much as I'd love to have him, he may not be welcome at UT. If he doesn't get the HC gig at UH who knows where he ends up.

It seems Major won't be welcomed back to the 40 acres, and as you mentioned Coach O is going after Lane K for his OC in Red Stick.

The names I am hearing are the usual suspects; Morris, Riley, one of our current coordinators, etc.

A couple of Wild-Cards are Mike Leach & Dana Holgorsen... Why would those guys want to leave Power 5 programs? Money, Tom Herman made more than both of them last year at UH. New Stadium, New Indoor Practice Facility, and Tilman Fertitta taking a heavy interest in the program the last 2 years.

Holgorsen is gaining some traction around here... He pals around with Fertitta and was here in March for a party hosted by Tilman. He also turned down a contract extension form WVU before their season started.

One thing Applewhite has is recruiting and current players. He seemed to be one of Herman's heavy hitters in that department, so that might be a feather in his cap.

Don't think it will happen but I'd also throw the bank at the DC from Wiscy. They play some salty defense and had great games against both Michigan and tOSU.

IMO the D.C. Hire is as important or more so, than the HC. Someone has to break this recent streak of zero defense in the big12. Not sure if it's a scheme thing, or if they need to recruit D from out of state where high school programs aren't so offense driven. or what. But the 1st to break the code will win a lot of ball games.

I don't think a decision on Major at the 40 has been made yet. I just fear he might not be welcome back. Frankly, I could also see a scenario where he was welcome back by UT and his wife said no.

I'd take him in a heartbeat for his recruiting alone.

Between his time at OU and his time at Clemson Venables definitely discovered the secret sauce

Major to UT has been beat to death. He is not going to Austin. Or he would have already; again...
Herman said he was going to wait to make all decisions till after Houston's bowl game; as to not leave them with high and dry. So that tells me. Orlando is gone. MA is staying and will leave once the new HC is picked.
I liked what TF stated on TV. That the next coach will have a much different contract than CTH. That UH will not be a 2 and out school for coaches looking to climb. That is a different approach than the past, and I like it but that will limit the people that will come.

So is that what they call an "unnamed source"? Just wondering because there were many on here calling for ESPN's head.....saying "they made it up" when they questioned Herman just before the Memphis game. You remember, the interview where Herman bold face lied to everyone.

How many coaches have said what Herman said? A bunch. I seriously wonder if some on here even watch college football. For years it has been a joke that if a coach said he hadn't talked to anyone and wasn't leaving that it was already a done deal. Yep, he's gone.
