Something looked really off / wrong with him last night after those hits. He didn't seem to have the arm strength last night that he has had. I think he knew that and was second guessing his throws causing him to be late. Maybe nothing was wrong and it's just freshmen growing pains, it just didn't look like what we have seen from him.

The more I reflect the more I like the grit ATM showed on the road in a tough SEC venue. The defense gets better every week and we remain relatively healthy. BTHO Arky

I had them at 7-5 also. I was expecting them to lose one they should win like last night. In fact was expecting a 1-2 start so I'll keep my burnt orange shades on this morning and say the future still looks bright.

Lots of things to build on from last night. Hopefully we figure out how to stop a screen by ou game.

I'm in this camp too and this was one of those losses that was supposed to be a win games. If you told me before the season we would be 2-1 at this point, I'd take it as that is what I expected.

My frustrations with the team are on defense. They looked lost all night and the calls were coming in late so they weren't getting lined up. They had Malik blitzing late right into the middle of the OLine. The only pass rush comes from Roach / Hagger so play those guys. The secondary is where 90% of my frustrations are coming from. They blow assignments, they can't tackle, the can't line up correctly, and they are soft. My problem with all of that is I'm positive the talent is there so that's the frustrating part.

Our return and coverage team seem to struggle despite having athletes all over it. Bottom line is Texas has better football players than what was shown last night.

The reason I'm so upset about this game is its truly one they should have won. I was expecting more and didn't get it and it was mostly self inflicted issues.

My worst fear is what happened last night taking a young team on the road and Cal being able to score at will. From the 2 missed FGs, 2 interceptions, bad timely holding calls, coaching blunder, injuries, and a DC that should have been left off the team play. It has been a long time since I have been this upset over a Texas game.

They are sitting at 2-1 which is were most people thought they would be after the first three games, but last night is going to leave a bad taste in my mouth for awhile. They have a long way to go.
The bright side is they could have just as easily been 3-0 as well. There is still way too much talent on that team to look backwards. ( I know you are not doing that.....but others may be) My Longhorn buddies blew my phone up this morning. I talked them off the ledge. I actually hate to see any team from the state of Texas lose to a California team....in any sport!!!! They will move more to the run going forward just as they should have done in the second half. You guys are the experts. Just giving my two cents. I think the Longhorns still have a good season moving forward, otherwise I will be playing Psychologist for my Longhorn friends.

Two 1-2 teams in Top 25 is pretty comical in itself

Much better spot for Texas, one game at a time. A win and they would have moved into the top 10 and they're **** sure not ready for that.

I'd like to the see the Ags in the 13 spot, I don't wanna see big jumps like we have the last couple of years, just slowly move up the rankings and just keep taking care of business

I agree. We need some of those to drop out

I had them pegged at 7-5 and still think that's about where they're at.

The back and forth QB garbage is getting old.

Serious question and I may not pay attention enough to where they are on the feild when they switch QB's......Do you think if they managed the two more efficiently it would work out better? Bringing in the steam roller inside the ten or on 3rd and short makes sense. Are they switching QB's at odd times which is messing up the chemistry of the offense? They still scored over 40 points so something was working. I ask because I would love for the Aggies to have a big QB. We can't score a TD inside the ten. We proved that yesterday.

I guess in some ways I find it quite entertaining that "some" grown men can become almost psychotic over 18-22 year olds playing a game. I never understood the fanaticism of what I experienced in the '80's as a player and I still don't understand it 30+ years later as a fan. I am the ultimate "T-shirt" Longhorn fan and have no problem with that. Heck they were by far and away our most hated rival while I was at SMU but when I was very young my Momma taught me 5 things about football-ALWAYS root for the Horns, the Cowboys, and the Comfort Bobcats and NEVER root for Notre Dame or the Redskins.

Make no mistake, that was a poor defensive showing last night. But, as some have pointed out already, tap the breaks, and let this season play out. If you cannot see that this team is better than the product we have seen the last several years then you are wearing blinders. An old coaching adage I think is in order here, this ain't a sprint, it's a marathon. I truly believe this team will be fine and the future is bright.
I'm with ya here bklem. I'm a moth too!

You have 18-22 year olds playing their arse off at maximum effort and making it look easy all while going to school, playing nintendo, chasing women, drinking a beer or two.
And coaches trying to make their livings for their families off these kids.
                              When is good good enough.
Root for your teams and have some fun!
