    RTIC Defect

My wife and kids got me a RTIC tumbler for Father's Day and had someone etch the kids hand prints into it. I noticed a week of so ago it was making a rattling sound like something was moving inside. I emailed RTIC's customer service and this is what I received back:

    "Aug 4, 8:45 AM CDT
    Hi Thomas,
That is a defect that has happenend to some tumblers. As far as it affecting the way it works, we are not sure here. We do apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused.

So you have a known defect and all I get is "sorry"?!?!?!?

Thanks for the rant....I'll step of the soapbox now.

I kept expecting to read "Send it back to us and we will replace it free of charge!" somewhere near the end!!!!!!

    Wow!

Put a Chevy bowtie decal on it.

Then it would have electrical problems too.

Eh, I dropped my yeti 30 oz tumbler a while back and now something rattles in it. Doesn't hurt a thing. You still got a steal on the price compared to the yeti, so i'd just chalk it up and drink on.

Yep. I've been reading Yetis been having the same problem. They should swap them out though if they know of this issue.

Yeah, mine does! I don't know what caused it, but I don't remember dropping it anywhere. Sounds like a tiny pebble or a coarse grain of salt is inbetween the walls.

Does it rattle when drinking from it, or when the cup is just sitting....or only when you shake it?

Might have been a disgruntled worker who put something in it to drive people crazy.

The Boz (not many of you are old enough to remember ) once told the story of his summer job at a vehicle assembly plant; got bored and would drop a nut into various door panels or other places where it would rattle!

My wife's 30 oz was not keeping ice worth a crap compared to mine. Called yeti and told them, they said "sorry" and had a new one at my office in 3 days...
