Headed to Rayburn on Tuesday for a few days last weekend we picked up 8 in 12 feet of water, no luck shallow. Lake jumped up 4 feet from last weekend don't know what that will do to them or even if I can get to them if they moved shallow.

Thanks for the info!

Fished a tank south of Luling yesterday PM for about 2.5 hours. Caught 18 bass, 3 bluegill, and 21 crappie. Most of the crappie caught on a roadrunner-type jig that the spinner didn't spin, a white split-tail plastic or a chartreuse split-tail. Bass caught on the jigs on UL rig or on red shad worm. Depth ranged from 6' up to 1'. Water was a bit stained from the rains, but not cloudy.

Fishing with shiners and pink/pearl jigs, 64* water, 1-2' deep.
All male crappie. Hopefully we don't get too much rain this week to make 'em tight lipped. Hoping to yard a few barn doors this weekend
We straight smashed them today. Right up shallow along the submerged bank near grass and brush. Between 3 of us we caught 40+. Some full of eggs. Minnows and a black/chartreuse jig when the minnows ran out. We were near the marina by Emerald Bay bank fishing.

Meant to post this here but accidentally posted to the wrong thread:
Well after hitting them hard yesterday I thought today would be a good day to take my almost 3 year old fishing for the first time. Went out mid-afternoon and caught two really quick before Finn decided to dump the minnows in the lake. Best day fishing since the day I took my oldest son fishing for the first time!

Today was more like an episode of Deadliest Catch than a crappie tournament. Palestine was a rough sucker today. There's big fish staging in the brush to move in and spawn and a lot of males shallow right now. Lots of small fish you had to wade through in the brush to get good ones. They were far and few between. We had enough for 2nd place in division 2 with 9.25 and had a 2.41. Yesterday it woulda took 14 pounds to get a check I have no doubt. Bring on post spawn brushpile and dock shooting fish!!! I hate spawning crappie.
