    2016 Spring crappie spawn

This thread will be for reports. I have started catching them in 2-3 foot of water on Lake Fork. The color that seems to be producing the best is a cinnamon/blue hand tied jigs. If the weather stays like it is and no crazy fronts blow through the bite should be on fire in a couple days.

What water temps have you been finding them in 2-3' of water?

I've been killing them the past couple weeks on black/chartreuse and pumpkin colored jigs.

We finally caught a few up shallow the other day. Not a bunch of shallow yet but its getting close. We caught most of our numbers in 25ft or so. Water temps were 63-65

when the crappie move up in the shallows to spawn can you still catch them at night with a light? I really want to catch some(never have) but have more free time at night than day. I ordered some shiners and they should be in the mail tomorrow. Hope to hit up Choke canyon Sat morn.

Which end of the lake did you find 61 degree water? I'm heading over in 3 weeks thinking we'd hit it about right with the full moon that week.

Restocked my plastics to accompany my hand tied jigs this spring. Have not put too much stock into finding them real hard this year but that'll change soon

All I can say is 2-6ft of water and in creeks off Conroe and Livingston.

If I start finding them on my brushpiles better than from the banks, yall are more than welcome to come on out on my boat

Recent experience to be sure of that? I'm hitting up the north end of conroe this weekend. Launching at stubblefield and heading south most likely. In the kayak so no electronics. Need to fix that soon so I know the depth and where the brush piles are.
