Have a Samsung and Vizio and like both. Make sure to go with a smart TV so you can get to YouTube, Netflix, etc. super convenient.

I have a Samsung 65" Curved 4K. Really nice. Curved doesn't do much but I do like it.

We bought a 65" 8000 series on a Black Friday deal @ Best Buy. We did quite a bit of research and decided for that size TV we wanted a 240hz processor instead of the standard 120hz. Looking forward to getting it all set up in the new house in a couple of months!

I work for a pretty established AV company in DFW, and all we sell is Samsung and Sharp.
Engineers will tell you all the rest are a a multitude of hodge lodge parts installed in a certain manufacturers housing.

Saying that, I have seen some really great resolution from other brands, but for dependability and length of service, Samsung and Sharp have the edge.

Vizio is a solid brand as well and will be priced lower than Samsung/LG.

Look on cnet. 4K looks great on the showroom floor but is still a long way away from being main stream for TV providers so streaming may be the only way to watch it for several more years. Plasma is still better picture quality than LCD. If you go the energy efficient LCD route try to look for one with active backlight zones instead of one that just has a uniform backlight. I own a Samsung plasma and led-led and like them both. I also have a Vizio led-lcd and really nowadays you can get a lot of bang for your buck from a lot of manufacturers.

Picked up a Samsung from Sams a couple years ago and have been really pleased with it. I believe it's either 55 or 60" And me being technologically retarded, I just found out that it links to the Internet and all kinds of fancy stuff. Haha. Does make using YouTube and Netflix pretty convenient.

I've had two Vizios and they both crapped out on me. Have a LG and am pleased with it. My in laws have a Samsung and I don't care for the picture. No matter what you watch it looks like it's a cheap homemade movie.

We have 5 Samsungs. We buy from Best Buy and ALWAYS get the 4 year Black Tie warranty. Have had several TVs replaced free.
