I don't buy guns at Academy anymore, none of the guys seem too knowledgeable and never friendly. I'm glad you were able to help her out.

I can appreciate their lack of knowledge they should probably be trained to say I'm not an expert I'm just here to show you what we have. If you want to ask questions go to a gun store then move over to academy to buy it for much cheaper.
Know what you want, buy it. Laugh if they say something stupid.

Anytime I'm in academy and looking to purchase a firearm, I always ask some off the wall crazy dumb a questions to make it look like I have no idea what I'm doing. You can tell really quick if the guy behind the counter knows what he's doing just by his response. I get a kick out of it. [emoji12]

You guys need a few Sportsman's Warehouses in Texas. Excellent service with very knowledgable folks that practice what they preach. The gun guys hunt and competitive shoot, archery guys are good techs that are bow hunt or die guys, the fishing dept are fisherman, hiking dept are hikers, etc. You catch my drift.
They also sell what works in your particular area, not blanket gear like bass pro and academy.

I don't even bother speaking to him if he is the only one behind the counter

Academy is no different than Walmart anymore. I don't go into Walmart asking the slow adults working the gun counter for advice and don't at academy either. If I want advice on something I'm not familiar with I will go to an actual gun shop where most people know what they are talking about.
