That's crazy! I guess it's the world we live in, but LSU would be silly to part with Miles. I hope it happens, though, as I predict they'll learn the hard way that good, consistent coaches are hard to come by.

17 million dollar buyout for a state that is struggling financially with $40 oil? No way that happens.

How come Simms didn't finish the am game that season? Did people really call the hotel rooms of the players all night?

I think he needs to find a new OC that will put up 35 points a game. You can't win in the Big 12 scoring 17 points a game. I want a stud OC (if ones out there) or stay with Norvell. I have no complaints (outside Iowa State) with Norvell / Traylor combo so I can live with it.
I think he needs to get his guys on campus. Like I have stated several times, name a JR or SR that would start at OU, Baylor, TCU, OSU?
Out of Heard / Locksely / Swoopes / Merrick / Buechele somebody needs to step up and play well. You can't win in the Big 12 without good QB play.
I also think that Texas has just had some bad luck / breaks too. It has to turn for him.
For me.
1. Better / good QB play
2. Charlie's guys
3. OC hire
4. Catch some breaks
Again, the record means nothing to me.
I agree with what you're saying about getting his people and players in there.
What is the status of the AD? I think another piece of the puzzle is a permanent AD who has Strong's back and is committed to both him and TEXAS.

6-7 and 4-8 Bob, my bad possibly 5-7, but I mean strong is elite huh? Harbaugh turned around Michigan in year 1, Gus turned around auburn in year 1, mcelwain turned around Florida in year 1, how come this elite coach strong didn't turn around blue blood Texas?
Cometely different situations. No one picked Texas to be better than 7-5 tbis year with 4 obvious losses on the schedule, one of which was a victory.
Anyone would know that strong is not an elite coach. This was his chance to become on3. Newsflash, saban was not elite when he went to LSU nor was meyer at Florida. They became elite. Harbaugh, yeah.....elite. i wanted him last year.
Co.e on man, you try way too hard.

It's not like he was handed a Heisman qb, an elite receiver, and an NFL offensive line....
