Strong was never on any short list at A&M. I have slept since then but I haven't lost all my memory. #keepstrong

Is this agonatistic or trash talk?I kid, I kid.
It's shaping up to be a potential Frog/Aggie bowl game?

Strong was never on any list! He never was or never will be the best (realistic or non-realistic) coach on the market. He's ok and I will say the same for Sumlin!

There are some really silly folks on here that come up with some crazy ****.
Its comical.
Sumlin wouldn't be where he is without Jff either, but what has strong done to make you think he's such a good coach? Please explain. Because Texas is Pathetic under strong. There sure are some idiotic burnt orange posters here too.
6-7 and 4-8 Bob, my bad possibly 5-7, but I mean strong is elite huh? Harbaugh turned around Michigan in year 1, Gus turned around auburn in year 1, mcelwain turned around Florida in year 1, how come this elite coach strong didn't turn around blue blood Texas?Last edited by EastTexasMan; 11-17-2015, 08:04 PM.

Guess they could have always padded the victories with OOC games like Baylor, etc.
Texas played the 22nd SOS last year and the 5th so far this year. That sure doesn't help a struggling team but it doesn't give them false hope either.
Harbaugh also has a roster loaded with upper classmen as did the others. Texas has underachieved, no doubt. Probably should have won 8 last year and should be siting on 6 or 7 this year with 2 to play.Last edited by Chad C; 11-17-2015, 08:09 PM.

Strong was a very well respected assistant coach / DC under Holtz and Meyer. He turned Louisville around. Won a BCS bowl and put a a lot kids in the league. While the results at Texas aren't great right now I don't think it's a reflection of Strong as a coach. He's a good coach. He might not be the right fit but he's a good football coach.

None of the teams I listed above as examples of elite coaching turn arounds had Baylor schedules either, or remotely close. I don't even know the stats but strongs losses have been by 20+ points multiple times..

Turned Louisville around???? Petrino was doing pretty good there before leaving and strong taking over and playing a part in a terrible season. Strong had 1 really good year there. He did well all in all, but by no means turned them around.

The only difference is sumlin hasn't had 6-7, 7-6, 6-7, 4-8 or 5-7 seasons when he didn't have Jff. But nobody said sumlin was an elite coach, that's just BOB spinning the fact that strong was and is a bust and wants to deflect. It's ok BOB I understand your burnt orange doesn't allow you to think rationally, such a pity.
