Longest you've gone without shooting a deer?

I'm going through a hunting drought currently... if I don't get meat in the freezer by end of this year, it'll be 4 years since I've last shot a deer! Never been that bad for me.

It's interesting though... I used to be ALL for antler restrictions when they started doing em. Now? Not so much. Funny how it works that way. Still for it but getting frustrated! Plan to go out of state and hit public harder next year to increase my chances of getting one.

What's the longest hunting drought you've gone through without shooting a deer? What changed to help you end it?

It's been two years since I have killed anything, but my son has picked up the slack and filled our freezer.

Have not seen a legal buck over 2yo this year and I hunted a bunch.

whew, i feel for ya man. I havent had a drought like that but if I did I would be trying every way I could think of to get some venison on the ground

My kids usually shoot my deer. I enjoy it more than flinging at them myself. That being said, its been a while since I have actually shot one

I wasn't born shooting deer, but I dropped 'em as soon as I could!

40yrs, I win...
hogs and everything else...but have never seen a deer while hunting

25+ years.

I only rifle hunted when I was young and through h.s. Didn't have a lot of opportunity for rifle hunts after that and didn't pick up a bow until April of this year. I haven't had as much opportunity to get out hunting as I was hoping for this year but at least I've seen deer and hog. That's better than the last 25 or so!
