I have. 4 years ago I was on a lease in Aspermont. Range conditions made hunting hard that year. I bowhunted all the way till the last day and pulled out my rifle for the last Sunday morning hunt of the season. Dropped momma with the hopes of the yearling coming back. It worked. Both piled up within 5' of each other. I needed/wanted the meat so didn't have a problem with it. Other than that year they get a pass.

I Know a ranch in Devine area where they kill off the one of the twins, mainly the female, as a management practice. To give momma and single baby a better chance.

Any opportunity you get you better take or chances are you just missed the the only chance you had. Right now I have a pair of does with one fawn coming by my spot pretty regularly. If I can figure out which isn't the momma I'll take her out. Otherwise I'm shooting whichever gives me a shot.
Look for her milkbag on your cameras.

I'll do it if she's got a yearling, but a fawn, no

Lol, my thoughts exactly. A fawn is a fawn until it reaches 1 year of age at which point it becomes a yearling.

For some reason people think if it doesn't have spots it is a yearling. No such thing as a 8 month old yearling. Lol

Have I? Yes. Do I make a habit out of it? No. For the same reasons as to why you don't.
