Just because you find beer cans doesn't mean it is allowed.

From the public land booklet:
xi
PROHIBITED ACTS
Important – In addition to the other applicable statutes or regulations, a person on Public Hunting Lands commits an offense if that person:

Alcohol
•
is under the influence of alcohol or consumes an alcoholic
beverage while engaged in hunting activities, or publicly
consumes or displays an alcoholic beverage.

Same here. Every ranch I have been on has the same rule. Some folks just can't have fun with out booze.

No, but I enjoy a beer or a sip or two of Jack Daniels after the days hunt is over. On our property, the rule is: The alcohol doesn't come out until the guns and/or bows are put up.

Aside from beer or 2 at the cabin, I don't usually drink and deer hunt too often. If I'm with friends and we are out hog hunting, it usually turns out a little different.

This thread reminds me of a quote

" I feel sorry for people that dont drink. When they get up in the morning, its the best they are going to feel all day."

Something like that

Never drank while bow or rifle hunting. Just not my thing.

Drink beer only when dove hunting and in South Texas on spot and stalk Javi hunts. More of a social sport really.
No wonder we have to wear orange on public lands these days.

Thanks.

If you can't hunt without drinking, you may have a drinking problem.
Dude! Really? You've got to be kidding, right? I think the problem is that most of you are assuming we are sitting in the stand getting sloshed? I normally will take two beers or one mixed drink with me. I'm 6', 250lbs, it takes a lot more liquor than that to even get a buzz, alone sloshed. It does make it a more relaxing hunt, I don't need it, but I enjoy it. I hunt, fish or play golf for relaxation, fun, enjoyment and most of all camaraderie with my buddies. We are not uptight, all in a bind about killing an animal. We go to enjoy the outdoors. Saying all of this, I don't expect you to carry a 6 pack with you to the stand this weekend, but you should probably temper your statements as to not be so judgmental!
