Hell....I learned the meaning of "RETAIL HELL" when I lived my dream and opened up my hunting store in West TX. NEVER worked so hard, so many hours and made so less $$! Start that new career and never look back!

That's no joke. We are about to go to a 10 and 4 schedule. Every other weekend as a 4 day will sure help my hunting seasons.

Sometimes it is the company. I worked for a company out of college in retail as an Asst Store Mgr. I hated it. I did that for a year, then went to work for another retailer in a slightly different role and loved it.

I'm in the same boat, same job for 14yrs now and I hate it, but to scared to do anything else, just turned 50, make decent money, I guess, and was told about another job that I know nothing about(computers) sent a resume and am scared they'll actually call me..
            Is that dumb or what.

I am doing it because I feel like God put us all here to make a difference, and this is the best way for me to do that. My dad is a cop, and I have seen what it can do to you if you let it, but I have the best family in the world and know they will help me through the hard times. I'm not looking for easy, I'm not looking for praise, and I'm not looking for my name in the paper. If I can keep just one innocent life from being lost because of the evils in this world, then I have made my difference.
You'll do that many times over. Enjoy the journey.

Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life. Hate what you do and it will kill you.

Is it the job you dislike or the hours?

I have come to realize that very, very few people make great money working less than 50 hours a week.
I absolutely love my job right now, but now that I have a wife and kid, it's dawning on me how much I miss when I leave at 7am and get home at 10 pm, only to wake up and repeat.

Pop-Up, you made a move, don't be ashamed of that AND don't dwell on it.

Right now you have clarity, but you lack two things experience and education.

Experience will provide you opportunities in a specific line of work, but education will provide you improved opportunity in multiple lines of work. A degree will benefit you and employers will help you complete that degree if they see benefit in you completing the degree. A degree is sometimes that little bit that makes the difference, and your contacts in college are often times the keys to opportunities after college. Especially for Ags.

Can you say why you chose to leave college? Can you go back in with the Corp?

This pic was taken because the firefighters were still too sleepy to fight fire when they arrived on scene.

                          Very true ^^^^

I was offered a job a couple of months ago that would more than double what I make now. I thought about it for about 3 seconds and declined. Money ain't everything.

                            Wisdom!!
I hear that all the time about how all the good jobs are in Houston paying big money. I would rather make 30K a year and live in Montana in the mts, fresh air, hunting, fishing, clear streams, etc etc... than make 80 thousand and have to live in Houston.
Like BowSlayer said. Money aint everything.
In fact making more and more money can consume the very life blood in you.
Work hard- play hard and then give it all away to those who are in need.
