    Doing a job you hate....

So I made a huge mistake coming out if college thinking retail wa the place for me. Now I work 50-70 hrs a week doing work I cannot stand surrounded by people willing to sell out their coworkers to get ahead. To say this job ain't for me is the understatement of this very young century. I will be done with this in October, and will start my application for Houston police dept so that I can begin a career as a cop, doing something that excites me and allows for a bit more individual discretion. This is a rant, I know, but if I don't say something I may emplode. I pray that the good Lord gives me strength to finish up these last 6 months without losing it.

Oh, retail is hard to work. I managed several stores for a while. Never had more drama in my life nor have I met more weird people (other than on TBH ) in my life. Just think about your future - sounds like it will be a good new venture for you!

Good luck in the process but done quite till you get start date from HPD. Better to have a job you hate then no job at all.

Be glad you had the fortitude to make a change, lot's of folks just go through life in a hated job because they are afraid to take the leap of faith.

That's kind of where I'm at. My problem is money. There's nothing that I would be interested in doing, that even pays close to what I make now.

Just remember, no one shows their income levels on their tombstones.

Be prepared to deal with this in any job field that you enter.

Yeah but Big Fancy Marble tombstones usually belong to wealthy people. So in a way they do.
