I've had the 1.5hp #32 Cabelas brand grinder for about 12-13 years or so now. My auger and bushing connection is designed different than yours. My bushing is connected to the back of the auger at all times. It holds up very tight. After grinding probably several thousand pounds of meat ever since I've had it, there has never been the tiniest speck of meat ever get behind that bushing. Nor have I ever had even the slightest issue with grinder. It's gone the entire 12-13 years without the slightest hiccup.
For whatever the reason they changed that design....it's not as good of a design like the older ones have.
