The one that looks like 1" sprinkler pipe? I have no idea personally. I did get some silicone lubricant and spray around where the gears fit into each other and around the sprocket on the motor. I think the heat is what actually caused me to buy the silicone spray in the first place 3 or 4 years ago.

I see now from the diagram, there is a thrust bearing(or thrust washer?) Still, all thrust areas need lubricant. Friction causes heat

I'll give it a shot.....I'd have figured the fat would do so. I'll make sure I hit it with something.

Thanks fellas.. Glad I am not alone in it.

Try a can of food grade silicone spray from Academy and it should fix your problem. Spray it on the white teflon spacer.

I have been spraying auger and that Teflon down with pam cooking spray before using. Seems to help clean up also.

Looks like your are missing the Teflon bushing between the auger and where it seats into the grinder. I forgot mine last year and had the same thing you are talking about. I have a extra one if you need it.

I have a white teflon auger bearing/bushing in the pics.

Can you post a pic of what you are talking about? I don't see it on my schematic.

I'd take it back to Cabellas and go buy one anywhere but Cabellas.

Jason, it looks like you have wear on the teflon washer and you're getting metal to metal contact. New washer and food grade silicone spray should fix you.

That's what my guess is. Maybe cranked it down too hard and damaged the washer. I would try just lube first
