Ha. I have one of each lem and cabelas. This cabelas one, smoke or no smoke, will grind links around my lem.

Yep, mine does the same thing for about 5 years now. Still going strong. I am going to try oiling the Teflon washer next time and see if that helps. Even with this little flaw, I love my cabelas grinder!

Funny that you would say that, because I've had both in 1 1/2 hp and my lem is still grinding beef, pork, chicken and venison. My first cabelas brand one was taken apart and scrapped after it bit the dust in only two years. My grinders run year round-not just during deer season.

My FIL does the same. It will cook on to it and is a pain to clean off. Seems to always get the job done. Makes you kinda hungry smelling it

OK I feel much better now that it seems to be pretty common without issue.

I have the Cabela's 1 horse. Mine will do this when grinding frozen meat. I always thought it was heat transfer from the motor.

The square drive peg on my auger broke after 5 years of use. I went to Cabela's just wanting to purchase a new auger and post. They ended up giving me a new grinder.

Cabela's is never the lowest price, but their service earns my repeat business. The replaced a $500 piece of equipment instead of asking me to pay $25 for a new part.

                                UPDATE!!

Doing this below solved my problem.....Pam canola spray and making sure the the auger plate and knife assembly was just lightly hand tightened. The Pam made cleanup much easier as well. 200 lbs of sausage grinding and stuffing, 30lbs of sticks grinding and stuffing and 2 grinds of 40lbs of bacon burger and no heat at all. Thanks yazoomike
