    Multiple kills 1 spot?

Just curious how many of you have gotten multiple kills in the same spot when it comes to white tail and whats the over all opinion on sitting in the same stand after you make a kill.

I was having this discussion with a friend of mine and he will not sit in the same stand for a while after he makes a kill. Me personally I don't think it matters as much as some would like to believe it does and of course have no proof to back my opinion up but whats yours?

Say you sit in your favorite stand opening morning and shank a fat doe.....do you sit in that stand again for your evening hunt or sit elsewhere? And if not how long do you wait before you think its ok to go back to that stand to hunt ?

I personally dont think it matters much.

I've killed several deer and hogs with both bow and rifle in the same stand hours after the original.

One of my stands had 2 deer, 2 hogs and 3 turkeys taken from it in about 3 weeks last season.

I prefer to wait between... but im not setting at home instead of hunting. Many of times I've thumped a big hog and then the next hunt in the same stand shot a nice buck.

Like I said I'd prefer to go set at another set up after I drive in and pick up my kill, but if the wind is still right for that set up and bad for another one I say go ahead.

I will hunt the wind before ALL else. The wind dictates where I hunt over any other criteria.

I've killed multiple deer from the same stand multiple times. I don't think it matters. In fact, last year I shot a doe with my bow and the deer that were with her just looked at her like "what's up with you?" They never left until after I got to the bottom of the tree.

I'm hoping to kill 2 does out of one stand Saturday. I don't think it matter to much aslong as the wind is good.

Depends on where you hunt and the deer density, IMO.

Where I hunted in E TX, if you shot something in the morning, you might not see anything for a few days.

At our place in Del Rio, if you shot something in the morning, you'll probably see deer come back within the hour.

I don't think it makes a huge difference either. I've shot animals in back to back hunts from the same stand before. Just don't field dress your animal near your hunting area.

I have killed doe out of my favorite stand in the morning, came back that evening and killed a 7 pointer. Came back the next morning a killed a 9, he had to walk over 2 blood trails before i shot him. Also last year killed a different 9 then that night and the next night had a 10 pointer at teh stand on camera. dont think the blood/killing bothers to much.

That being said if you are spooking the deer while there i think thats a different story. if been busted by does at a stand twice in row different nights and it took them 3 weeks to start coming back during the day light.

Three years ago I shot a turkey, pig, and a doe in one morning sit. The following year my nephew shot his first buck ever (small 4 point) and 15 minutes later I arrowed my biggest buck to date. I hunt the same spots back to back all the time after a kill and I know one year I filled my tags in 6 sits at the same stand. Both bucks were mature (one shot in the morning and one shot in the evening).

I really don't think it matters much either, especially hunting with a bow. Probably have a worse chance of animals returning after they see/smell you rather than firing a shot or flinging an arrow IMO

We had a particular stand last year that had a buck taken on a Saturday morning ( post mature 8 ) then a mature 10 taken the next evening. The gentleman that took the second deer was not seeing much at his stand so he decided, after much urging, to go hunt the stand that had a buck taken the day before. He's sure glad he went over there.

I shot my buck at Hagerman last year and as I sat waiting to get down a doe came in. Had I been ready I might of gotten her too. So I guess after killing something, wait 5 minutes then hunt it again...
