Ted Nugent just proved that camo is pointless

A lot of the tools, equipment we use today in the field are not "necessary" but or either fun to have or give us a slight advantage. Even if it provides a mental confidence it has benefits. The way I look at it, I have to wear something while hunting so why not have some dedicated hunting clothes and why wouldn't they be camo. I can get camo for the same price as non camo clothes.

Another point is that wearing camo might not be totally necessary with deer but what about other game animals. Not sure you can duck hunt in a Santa suit. If wearing camo gives me an advantage with other animals in the deer woods it ultimately helps me deer hunting by helping me be less obvious in the woods.

The whole Santa suit thing is hilarious because it was done by a group of guys who LIVE in camo and continue to hunt in camo, not Santa suits. The whole thing was done as a goof and some people are reading all sorts of stuff into it. I wonder how the camo pattern that sponsors (and pays them) would feel if they knew THIS topic came out of one of their goofy escapades? Can you say, "unintended consequences?"

I have proven that! Camo is the biggest waste of money. It's great for hiding from other people which is what it was developed for.

This thread was intended to say that mainstream camo is not the reason why hunters are successful. Playing the wind and staying still are much more important than wearing modern camo. I'm saying it seems foolish to think you have to go buy the latest and greatest camo pattern with the thought that you will become invisible. But hey, you guys already knew what I was thinking.

Its funny how so many people say playing the wind. if you have ever hunted in the mts, that option is sometimes not an option as the wind swirls a good amount of the time. You cant play that. impossible....Of course we try to hunt the wind but to say camo is not that important really puzzles me as Smart has clearly shown in nature it does matter. To say it doesnt is just not factual. As far as yearly camo wear, its about breakup and blending and movement. I like predator camo, cause is great breakup and just is cool! Enjoy your camo, wear your camo, live your camo. It is your friend.

You should come to West Texas and try to play that wind. I might have 10-15 deer come in my feedpen from every direction.....and the same deer from a different direction each hunt that weekend. I'll take no movement and concealment there before playing the wind....but hey, that's just me and our place..

I think it's funny when people wear camo, face paint, throw scent bombs ect. And still get busted and I go out wear jeans and a tbh hoodie everytime and have no problems.
