Camo and no movement if out in the open is good. Camo is not necessary in a tree or blind. Secondarily , I have seen so called wild game fed by hand out of the back of a truck. Betting these celebrities don't want to go away empty handed so they find places that are pretty much for sure kills like the places I have seen where deer can be fed by hand in a santa suit.

Everyone starved to death before camo was invented.

It helps to break up your silhouette if you backlight yourself, it helps to hide small movements and to blend into the background. Folks all over the world been using camo in one form or another forever.

        Is it necessary.... no

        is it a help... yep

LOL!!! Just remember this, like I've mentioned in the past on here. Indians hunt without CAMO, old timers as well. If I am sitting on quadpod, in the open by tree with very little leaves, ghillie suit. Inside box blind. Black top, blue jeans, black mask. CAMO is cool to wear, represent as a Hunter, though.

Camo breaks up your pattern. That's the point...

            It's not necessary.

Sitting in a stand, any moving body part needs contrasting camo. Is it necessary, no. Can you kill a deer without it, obviously. However, that is not a chance I am willing to take when that buck of a life time is standing 10 yards from me. I personally would say that wind and lack of body movement are the most important aspects to getting a shot.
