Those videos one climbs in to the rope and the other falls in a way that he is in control. When you fall your not going to be ready for it or slowly lower yourself in to the rope.
Rock climbing belts are rigged on very short anchor points and the fall is distance is minimal. Im sure they save lives in falls but not made for a true fall arrest like a body harness. A body harness is designed to spread the load from the force of the fall to reduce injury. That is why OSHA requires them in construction settings.

where are you tied off to?
How high is your anchor point for your fall arrest lanyard?
How long is that lanyard meaning when you fall where will you end up?
What will you be swung into and be hitting you head on?
