Just watched a re-run of A&M beating Alabama, and found myself getting nervous in the 4th quarter praying we held on. Lol at myself. Yea I'm ready for it to start, no matter the final rankings.
I felt the same exact way watching the LaTech debacle. Could feel 35 years of BAS rearing its ugly head once again.
Do you remember Texas stopping the recruiting process and street agent being tossed around? Brings light to the accusations, NO?
I got ya...still curious as to which "big" program this could be. Not accusing Texas by any means. Just wondering. They also mentioned another SEC program that was in the mix.

No clue, but I kinda find the story hard to believe. Who turns down $600K to play for free?

Who knows...maybe his parents have some morals and wanted RSJ to go about this the right way?? I get that it is strange though to be coming out with this for a book/expose'. The entire Cam Newton thing was kinda the same. I don't know if anyone read the "Good bull hunting" website today but it had a good story about the whole ESPN vs. Mike Leach vs. Craig James sage. It was a good read and shines a light on the "reporting" that ESPN claims to be the worldwide leader at.

They said top 20 so that removed Texas from the mix! I think its likely bogus, but the article claims SEC and ACC.
Think I'm gonna have to buy the book..... Wonder who the team was who made the initial $300k offer us benefits for Ricky Seals-Jones??
Do WHAT???
""Oh, it was higher than that," Chester Jones, Ricky's dad said. "It was a lot higher than that." Chester Jones said the offers grew as high as $600,000 for his son's signature on a national letter of intent – one SEC school and one ACC school said they'd double any offer – but he declined them all out of principle and the fear of inevitably getting caught."
And people are worried about JM's signature scandal......

I think ESPN butchered the TT deal and Craig James working there was likely a big influence behind that. What's interesting though is Leach just lost his case in court so I wonder what really did happen.
As far as Craig James goes, he pretty much lost me when to this day he insists he wasn't paid at SMU.

Check what I said earlier. He didn't turn down $600K. If I'm reading that right he supposedly turned down $1.2MM to play for free?
Yeah, not buying it.
