How many arrows did it take for your deer kill.

Another thread got me to thinking about some advice a buddy have me when I first started bow hunting. He said don't for a monster for your first deer. Shoot the first thing that walks out and get some practice because I promise you will miss. Well he was right I missed my first few arrows at deer to the point I got so frustrated I tried taking it out in a coon. This coon came out and I emptied my quiver!!!! I shot a rock, the ground, a dead tree lying on the ground and a live tree in front of me. I was about the give up when my buddy told me to bend at the waist vs raise my arms up and down and not change my anchor point. Well I finally connected back to back on my next two! Anybody else have any similar experiences or all y'all expert bowhunters from the start

Could a mod please change the title to how many arrows did it take for your 1st deer kill? I would appreciate it if y'all could.

My first was a 1 shot kill, but I had shot several hogs before that.

My first bow kill was a hog. Ground level, hog was sleeping. Good shot. However, the next two shots at hogs were misses . My first deer took 4 arrows I think. First shot was high in the spine. He dropped but alive. Next arrow missed. 3rd arrow was good, but he wasn't yet dead, so I put a 4th in him.

I shot 7 arrows at the same doe. Never did hit her. Funny thing is I only had 4 arrows. Had to climb outta tree and go get them and then the stalk was on. She would trot off bout 50 yds I'd follow and miss again. She prolly laughed for 3 yrs till I pulled the 30-30 out and put her down. Took me 4 years to get my first deer with a bow. Have gotten a little better now

I shot a spot n stalk doe the very first time out with my bow at age 15 (it took me 2 arrows, but both of them hit her). The first one was actually a good shot, but I rushed to go get her and jumped her up before she was dead and ended up puting another arrow in her about 30 yards from the spot where I jumped her

Missed the first one I ever shot at, exactly a week later I didnt make the same mistakes again and whacked a buck and it went about 30 yds

1 arrow on the first kill....3 on the second (2 after tracking.) Taught me the importance of ethical shots...

Hit the 1st I ever drew back on, but hit it square in the shoulder blade and never recovered. Didn't bow hunt after that for 5-6 yrs. Then I hit a streak and didn't miss for 3-4 yrs

I was fortunate and killed a doe on the first shot and it was also my first ever hunt with a bow. I've been hooked ever since. That was back in 1992.

Killed a Corsican ram with my first shot at game in the late 70s... Missed my first deer, a spike, later that year. Right under his belly. Connected on the next shot the next day.

Yep a friend told me the same. I pulled back on 4 does before I finally got it right. Then a herd of 5 does came in and I arrowed my first doe being 12 ft up the tree she was 4 yds from the tree. AWESOME!

The first deer that I shot at was a 7 point.
One shot, through the heart with a Bear whitetail hunter, in 1977, I was 17.
                            I've missed plenty since then.

Ive connect on all of mine so ar first was a spike that was about 10 yards from the stand the next was an 8 point with no brow tines at 33 yards and this year i took a mullie in new mexico at 62 yards.. But i did lose alot of arrows when i first started practiceing, brick walls do some damage to em..
