I just bought a house on 2.5 acres and own another 15 in Fayette County. Bought the raw land through VA Landboard...they only require 5% down. Use it if you can.

I plan to. I was on their website yesterday seeing what was available. Did you buy a type I or II property?

Just making sure you know that you don't have to buy the land listed on their website. That's just forfeited land. You can use them for any property.

10 acres here. About 8 miles from Bandera. Have a feeder on it year round with axis coming to it almost every day.

Wow, that was a smart move and the right time to buy sounds like. Did you find your 53 acres on their TVLB or on your own?

I used the TX Veteran program to buy mine... At that time the loan was $80K max.... You can buy any land as long as it is over I think 1 acre.

Good deal for Veterans out there.

I own 0.18 acres right in the middle of Dallas and the price per acre was sky friggin' high!
