Has anyone been doing any experiments with attractants?

I think I have tried it all, I have learned this.

BB2 works very well and I use it only.

Bad part, cost, will gum up a plastic barrel feeder, steel is good to go.

Placed out a bb2 block a trophy rock and a off brand and a record rack block

Pre Season scores are this.
Trophy rock
BB2 block
Record rack block
Off brand, squirrels and coon like.

Bb2 and hand corn outsife off feeder was best, so thats what I am sticking with.

Thanks for the test results. It is pricey + I have to drive to Lampasas to get it. I just put out some corn laced with Hog Wild yesterday. See how that works.

Mineral rock/trophy rock? I forget what it's called but it the block that is sold out of the wooden crate
Several years I dug a hole, buried 2 and placed one on top. All I do now is toss one in the hole they dug. They have not stopped coming to it.

I use a little mixed with the corn and throw a small handful into a cedar every time I fill the feeder or swap cards. I'm not using as an attractant, but rather as a cover scent. Works great.

They do not work. Period. Do not waste your money. 20 years ago in Llano I tried it all and they walked right past it to get to the corn. I have lived in Wimberley for 10 years...experimented with all of it in my front yard....nothing.

I mean, if you put it by your feeder they might actually eat it because they are already there but it is not gonna "bring em in" from two miles away.

Heck, BOB says nothing works, period! Guess I'll have to quit using what has been working for me


Also, the mineral lick I mentioned above is not near a feeder, it's in an old logging road in the woods.

I like Buck Candy and the ground sugar beets. Had good luck with both of them. But my favorite is just plain old apples. Ill buy a Bag and literally just throw them out from my stand, that way they bust up a little

Agree. Cut them in half throw em out. Some hand corn and its all you need. Works very well.
