Started looking and found a buck not my buck but a buck never the less. Called Timm's friend and asked him if he had black n white quick fletch blazers. Sure enough it was his buck no yotes and meat was still good. Its gutted and on my cart on way to check in. Glad that buck was found just praying I find mine. Off to walk a grid pattern.

Hopefully your Hag buck doesn't end up like my Hag buck. Found the next day when I heard the coyotes finishing breakfast.

If the shot was lethal, I bet he would feel pretty fortunate to find the skull and rack after 24 hours. Hate to lose the meat but you also hate for everything to go to waste. Sucky part of hunting, the not knowing.

Hey Dan, did the buck you found earlier have stained hocks, & smell pretty strong?

If so your buck should be rank as well. If so....

Keep your nose to the wind and try to pick up a whiff of him.

Tack back and forth heading into the wind as you search.

You’d be surprised how far away you can smell a rank buck.

We have found many bucks this way Dan, keep your hopes up.




I usually don’t put much stock in buzzards, never found a deer because of them.
