                      I don't know about the size and shape of the rub because I have seen ones that look like that before.

                      BUT, the shavings still being around the base of the tree look suspect. They seem to be very fresh and not discolored or trampled at all. When a buck is working a tree over he will step on a lot of those shavings.

                      I honestly could go either way. If you have a spot where you have got game cam pics of a buck, I wouldn't leave it to hunt a rub your buddy claims he found.

                          This one is the real deal, its pretty low to the ground.
                          The bark in yours is a lot larger and looks like shavings you use for Stalls.
                          I would say Beavers or Fake.
