I agree (do not faint) They obviously have not read the Bible so they obviously do not care how much proof you have that it's not wrong. Never ever under estimate how stupid people can be.

Some good replies here, some no so good. My personal favorite verse is Genesis21,v20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and he became an archer.

Any guesses what an archer alone in the wilderness might shoot and eat? I'd bet he wasn't a vegan.

              Very true.

I 100% believe as believers we have the freedom to hunt. HOWEVER; the verses some are using to defend our right are out of context.

Just because we see an old testament character hunt, that doesn't mean Christians can. There are a LOT of actions in the old testament that is not appropriate for us. (We can't take 2 wives or kill people because they live in our land)

The quote to Peter to arise, kill, and eat was not a command to hunt. It was an illustration to spread the gospel to "unclean people" / gentiles.

These would not be verses I would use to prove we as new testament believers can hunt.

But, there are many verses and principles that give us the freedom. God killed an animal to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve. He used animals to give humans a method for sacrifice. Humans AND OUR ENJOYMENT are over animals and all the earth.

The biggest argument is that we are not commanded NOT to hunt.

Remember, there is a difference between killing and murder. Those who question if Christians should kill, normally are confused between the two terms.

As Christians we must go to Scripture to defend or challenge our actions or beliefs. Just keep our answers in context. We must read the verses before and after our text.

Genesis 27:3. That's good enough for me. I also hate how people say hunting and 'murdering' animals is wrong. Then where the heck do you think your bacon cheeseburger from Whataburger came from? An ANIMAL< that was KILLED. Same thing, except deer aren't left for days in a slaughter house and then killed. They actually have a chance!

                You can't argue with stupid.

Of course not but their judgmental attitude might have been.

The only way hunting would be wrong is way as anything else.

Do not let hunting(anything) get in the way of taking time to nuture your relationship with God.

                              I'll play devil's advocate here.....

So many have posted Gen 1:26, the verse of dominion over animals. But most never take into consideration the following verses where Adam & Eve are "given every seed-bearing plant on the surface of the entire earth and every tree whose fruit contains seed. This will be food for you."

Essentially God commanded Adam & Eve to be gatherers of nuts & seeds, never was the mention of meat in their original diet.

Meat became a product of Man's original sin. It wasn't until Man was cast out of the garden that they were given meat as food.

So my question is, if meat is a consequence of sin, do you want to continue to live in the consequences of that sin......

Again, just playing devil's advocate here...

WE BE SINNING - I BURNED MEAT - OMG!!!!!!

Don't worry about it.....there are some that will use every tact they know to direct\condemn\pontificate....and or expose their real cult.....VEGANISM!!!! Veganism has no bearing on Christianity....it's it own cult and some are seizing it.....morphing it......twisting it......into a Spiritual thing. This is not Christianity.....it's VEGANISM!

There are way too many Christians....that desire a MEDIUM RARE RIBEYE on Sunday afternoon! Don't worry about it.....last time I checked......we barely have enough food on the planet...leaning on the meat based proteins used to feed the masses now....to feed the world. Take meat away....many people will simply perish!

I always get a big chuckle out of those that say "Hey.....veggie burgers are great!!!!!" Try to find a vegetable to eat in Alaska during January...in abundance enough...to feed the locals...without having to depend on others to ship it in from elsewhere.......I dare ya!
