Congrats on the ranch rat! A javi is the only animal that has actually chased me. He wanted to eat my a** and I had to whack him across the head FOUR times with my longbow while running backwards to get him to finally turn and leave.

Sounds like a blast! I had a situation on my last javi hunt where I figured me and Robby ( rlk123 ) would get charged but it didnt happen. Maybe I'll get lucky next time!

Nice Javi. Happened to me, but I didn't shoot him. I stalked up right behind him with a pistol. Maybe 15' away. He snorted, turned and faced me, snorted again and ran right at me. Same thing.... I jumped, and screamed like a girl I think, and he passed by within a foot of me. I unloaded the mag and am pretty sure I never hit him.

I've had them do that before. I think they're just running. Happens to be in your direction.

Javalinas are the most cowardly animals in the wild....they will and always abandon their young when danger is present, and they run in all different directions because they are blinded by fear......and you happened to be in their way of escape. It is easy to interpret it as an attack ...i guess.

Any chance that he was spinning around and just happened to take off in the direction you were standing? I think if he was truly charging you he wouldnt have just run on by when you jumped over him.
I've been charged by momma cows and they dont just give up and keep running after you side step 'em. They wheel around and keep on trying to get in your back pocket!
