You mix with water if you spray the leaves.
If you spray diesel on the leaves, it just "burns" the leaves off, and usually won't kill it.
If you have a license, or know someone that does, use Grazon/water. It's alot cheaper and you use less in your mixture. Grazon is about $100 for a 2.5gal bottle.

I don't know about Roundup. I leave a good 12 inches of trunk and then jerk the dead stump out the next year with tractor. I just know Remedy works. You don't want to use it full force or the tree goes into a retreat mode....you want to dilute it with diesel...it tricks the tree as its sucking in the killer Remedy. HAVE FUN!!!
