I was just able to download ur last pic SB. You just got the top back tips of the lungs on that Axis. If you had hit 4 inches farther straight down. It would not have been a 40 yard trackin job bro.

As long as the axis is quartered away. Just behind the crease on an axis, esp if real low like most people like them on a whitetail, is a gut shot!

I shot this one at about 25 yards. I was about 10 feet up. She ran about 60 yards or so.

Slick trick as well.

I shot one last year at 18 yds quartering away and she dropped and turned back toward me so fast that the arrow went in up front (breast bone area) and exited just behind opposite leg. Lunged her and she went 100 yds in a dead run and expired. That how far forward the vitals are...
That's also very fast to turn toward the shot at 18 yds...
