A year later, how do you feel about the Texas trout limits?

If the difference between 3 fish and 5 fish keep someone off the bay, all I have to say is great. That’s less people to deal with. I sure hope all these guys that have to feed their family are shooting all their deer and turkey tags every year.

Come on man…you’re smarter than this. Nobody is having their rights taken away by what is being discussed in this thread….limits have been lowered but everyone still has their right to fish. I don’t like things being taken away from me either, but if something is going to potentially have a positive impact on something that I love to do I’ll at least take a look at some of the facts that support the decision. We can’t deny that there are more people fishing these days, you can’t deny that a larger trout lays more eggs than a smaller trout…so if we decrease the number of fish taken out of the water for consumption and increase the number of eggs laid that the number of trout should increase. Add in other factors such as freezes and dolphins it even further adds to the need to take action.

But hey, we can go the way of the ducks if you’d like.

I go for feeling and seeing that trout blow up on a top water at daylight. I don't care if it's 15" or 30" or what it tastes like. If my son or good friends are there to raise hell with me... thats even better. All the rest is just background bs.

If some one wants to get organized and make a run at tpw I'm in, but chest pounding on a forum isn't doing squat to change anything.

Wrong. It is rights taken away... slowly but surely we'll be Florida with fishing seasons. It's coming and you're cheering it on. We've gone from 10 trout to 3 in 5 years. ... but seriously. I haven't seen a POS boat or truck at a ramp in years. Thousands and thousands of dollars in diesel trucks, boats, gear are spent to go after fish. Get out of here with... I need the fish to feed my family. You could feed your family multiple times with what you spent on alcohol and fuel jsut to go fishing.

Edit: They should raise the limits for people who fish off the bank. They might actually be fishing for food. If you can afford to haul a boat to the coast you aren't going hungry.

There are a ton more boats on the water than when I was a kid and the same amount of resources. It would only make sense mathematicaly that each person would get less.
