I used to eat quite a bit of both because we are taught they’re “healthy”. I noticed the biggest difference in my skin once I gave up those two, it was almost immediately which has convinced me that my body is allergic or can’t process sugar over certain quantities.

And no beer? That would be a problem ...
I've been carnivore for the last year. I was low carb keto for 3 years prior to that, but there's a lot of processed foods and junk foods that are "OK" with keto. If you do a whole food keto, that would be way better.
But I absolutely love carnivore. I eat a lot of ribeye, NY strip, filet and some hamburger along with elk, deer, bison, lamb, salmon and other seafood. I eat beef liver about once a week. I love to grill some beef marrow bones when I get them. Covering a grilled steak with marrow off the grill is fantastic. I don't much like chicken, and ruminant meat is a lot better for you anyway, so I don't eat chicken a lot. I'll eat wild turkey and duck and quail whenever I have a successful hunt for those. Meat is my favorite food anyway, so it's super easy for me. Good meat isn't cheap, but when you aren't buying a bunch of vegetables, snacks, junk food, and all of that, it is probably cheaper to eat just steak. It's definitely a lot easier to cook. I cook meat on my Blackstone in ghee or tallow. It just takes a few minutes to sear a steak to 125 degrees, and then scraping the griddle clean takes a few seconds. SUPER easy - and delicious.
In the last month I've been eating a few berries with coconut cream, some coconut cream yogurt, sauerkraut, and if I am at a Mexican restaurant some grilled onions, avocado, and cheese with meat.
I had elk burger for breakfast this morning, fajita meat at a Mexican place at lunch, and I'm about to grill a ribeye for supper. I don't see myself ever eating any different way. I feel great. I didn't think I had any weight to lose when I started carnivore after having been keto for 3-4 years, but I dropped 10 pounds with carnivore. 15 years ago I was following the standard American "healthy" diet of low fat, high carb, 6 meals a day BS. I got up to 225 pounds (I'm 6' tall) with 36" waist. Keto got me back to 195-200# and 34" waist. The last few months I've been 182-184# at 33" waist - same as I was when I was 18 years old. I'm 58 now. I workout regularly, mostly doing MTNTough programs, which are awesome. I just started their new Postseason Strength 2.0 program. Loving it. You couldn't pay me to eat processed food or a bunch of carbs anymore.Last edited by Shane; 10-10-2024, 04:13 PM.

Curious question for y’all carnivores or medical minded tbh’ers
this diet ok for kidney health long term? High/complete protein diets can be hard on kidney, so they say.
This is a diet I could get behind if I needed to, but never dieted in my life. Eat lots of meat veggies and fruits. Drink my carbs. But I’ve had one kidney stone in my life and now try to take care of them.

My conundrum is that I have high cholesterol and triglycerides…hereditary, as I work out and am active and don’t eat like crap, even before trying carnivore…my doc wants me to limit my red meat intake which seems to be the most beneficial on this plan.
Just looking for experience from those who have been on this plan and have had cholesterol issues.

For those of you on the diet, what kind of feedback are you getting from your doctor? Are they supportive or do the express concern about lack of dietary diversity (in spite of improved numbers)?
