My go to is to brown 3 lbs ground beef, 1 lb beef liver (liquify in the blender), and 1 lb ground venison. I almost always have this mixture in the fridge. Eat a lb or so for breakfast with 4-6 entire eggs, a bowl for dinner if not eating steak. I eat very little pork and chicken. My body craves beef, salt, and butter.
Thank you. I’m day 14 on straight carnivore. Hardest restrictive diet I have tried. I feel it is harder than the 5 day water fast I tried. I feel way better in terms of
joint soreness and sleep. I close my eyes at night I’m out.

Can anyone recommend what vitamins or minerals I should add. I’m taking optimized minerals, and D3 and K2! What about fish oils or electro lites.

Definitely you need electro lites. LMNT is what I use and has lots of salt which I like. They have several flavors and the plain . If you're eating lots of fatty beef you shouldn't need to take any vitamins.

May want to check on medical studies and eating in a way that puts body into keto. Do as you want but know the positive and negative. I am having some inflammatory markers that are elevated and about eat a Mediterranean plan. Actually spoke to Dr about it today and she was thumbs up on it. She even warned me on not eating carbohydrates.

Read all the post and may have missed it but what is the science on why this works?

Trying to understand why no vegetables like lettuce or spinach

While I’d like to do this for the weight loss and joint pain relief, just don’t know if I have the will power y’all have.

My plan after the holidays is to eat clean. Avoid pasta and bread at all cost. Mostly beef, chicken, pork, fish, and green leafy vegetables.
Essentially our food will be from the perimeter of the grocery store. No processed foods.

I take my hat off to all you that have been successful on this diet.

Lettuce has little to no nutritional value. Spinach is LOADED with oxalates, which I'd never heard of until a year or so ago. Oxalic acid is bad for you. Liam Hemsworth almost died a couple years ago from eating too much spinach (in smoothies every day). Today's vegetables are genetically modified franken-foods, grown in depleted soils (so even more nutrient deficient), and full of toxic herbicides and pesticides. The meat of ruminant animals (beef, lamb, venison....) is the most nutrient-dense, species-appropriate food on the planet for humans.

I eat a few berries and occasional avocado and sauerkraut. But that's it, other than meat. Mostly beef, deer and elk, but also lamb and wild caught salmon and other seafood here and there, and occasional pork. Rarely do I eat chicken. I just don't like it. Plus it's just not as nutrient dense as beef. I eat beef liver about once a week. It's so nutrient dense, you don't need to eat too much of it. You can get vitamin A toxicity if you consume too much. The only things you can get too much of by eating vegetables is sugar and toxins, both bad for you in any amount.

It doesn't take will power to eat this way. Well, not after the first month or so anyway. If you eat sugar and artificial sweets, you're addicted. You'll have cravings and withdrawals when you give those up, but only for a little while. After a few weeks of no sugar, the cravings will go away. Eating fatty meat is VERY satiating/satisfying. I'd rather eat a ribeye than a piece of pie any day of the week now. Sugar is now WAY too sweet for me, and it makes me feel like crap if I have a bite or two of anything sugary. It's super easy to avoid now.

Well I’m on my second attempt at this dang thing, day 14 of this go around and yeah it suck’s about as much as I remember the first time!!!! I wasn’t overweight to begin with just had bad joint issues and hurt for no dang reason. That’s my main goal is to not feel as crappy. Dadgum I miss the sweets though! I guess I’m about 95% carnivore as I still have a small cup of coffee in the morning and an occasional glass of unsweet tea.

Do you stop hurting when you’re on 95% carnivore?

Did a 3 day fast and straight into carnivore. I’ll drink coffee and have a glass of unsweetened tea in occasion. I’ve lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks and am now lighter than I’ve been in 10 years. Excited to see results in a couple months time.

Checking in….. Day 37 it has gotten easier but just eating the same thing has been brutal. Joints feel better, weight has fallen off, sleep is better, mood is very constant. Going to run this diet for a while. I do miss pizza

Day 15 for me. I had headaches about a week into to it and sugar cravings. I’m over the cravings but I feel like I have the carnivore flu. Sleep good and no joint pain. But I don’t have any energy and feel sluggish. Won’t mention the other part that happens during this journey. I drink LMNT for electrolytes.

Im going for a full 30 days and then I will adjust / add cheese or avocados. We will see how it all plays out.

Good luck to yall if you’re doing it! Hang in there.

Not yet, but I’m thinking it’s still hasn’t been long enough this is day 14/15 and the longest I’ve gone carnivore. I’m 43 this year and have been pretty active in my adult life and very active in my teens and young adult. Lift quite a bit off and on until something hurts and then I’ll be on the shelf for a month or so until the inflammation goes down. Usually shoulders elbows and hip. Take a crap load of vitamin D, just started omega 3-6-9 and glucosamine this week. Heck I sleep on my shoulder and that could do me in for a month or more! Just have bad joints there.

So got my bloodwork back yesterday. Had perfect cholesterol before starting carnivore back in October. Down 25lbs. Now doc is wanting to put me on a statin.
