Yikes! That's opening weekend of rifle season. I was trying to figure out if I could join yall. That's a big weekend on my deer lease, every body shows up and it's a lot of fun.

This will be the first one of these I have missed. Life got in the way of this trip but it’s a lifetime experience. I have never went on one of these trips and not caught YFT. Usually the boat is about limited on the first night.

I think this is the thread from last year, correct me if I'm mistaken

Well we made it. Good trip. At least 6 Yellowfin over the 100# and almost all fish were 75# up. Touched leader on 3 blues and put one on ice. Had 5 blues bite on first combined 30 minutes trolling. Unreal. I’m sure someone will post better pictures and details. Enjoy

I have replied to all PM's

This will be my third year, I'm still a "greenhorn" but the Old Salts make sure everyone is taken care of and catching fish.
The captains and crew give 110%

Ive thought about this every year. What do you do with all the tuna? I like tuna steak every now and then but outside of that that’s a lot of tuna salad.

marlin is good to eat, 100 ways to eat tuna half of those involve no cooking at all

you can give it to me. Grew up in Hawaii so I'll take tuna over beef all day long

Last year's trip we decked 45 Yellowfin tuna and hooked 8 Blue Marlin - releasing 7 and killing the 8th due to it getting gut hooked - doomed to die.

This year should be awesome as well. A lot has changed with tactics and techniques and last year's trip was a testament to the work Tim and Crew have done aboard Dolphin Express.

Marlin steaks are awesome on the grill.

Looking forward to fishing with all again!

What he said, but we had a "boat" limit" (60 YFT), not just 45... We booked this upcoming trip while still on last year's trip in order to get the same Fall moon phase to match the trip we were on... Apparently tuna are creatures of habit and the later in the year, the better for this area of the GoM... Sure wish I could make it. Last year's trip was indeed a bucket list item for me, but I sure hope to do it again!

I am in and just paid up. I have caught a bunch of tuna in Costa Rica and a few out of Venice but definitely a rookie! Looking forward to it.
