Port A Surf Forecast (https://www.surf-forecast.com/breaks...latest/six_day) says 8 ft on Friday, 7 ft on Saturday, and 8 ft for the ride home on Sunday.
I've been on the Dolphin Express for 12 hours in 8 to 10 ft seas and it was difficult to walk around without holding on to something. 56 hours at 8 ft will be an adventure. I'm bringing rubber boots because the head will be a mess.
I'm serving chili dogs for Saturday night snacks. Might make for extra-good chum so I'll try to swap days with the Friday night snack guy.

From what Ive gathered, they'll call the trip if over 6s. 5-6s will kick your butt but they'll still go. While the boat is big it's also top heavy and can have a nasty roll. Even if you can handle the seas without getting beat up or sick, fishing turns into a major chore
You cant jig or chunk because the wind is blowing the drift too fast so you're stuck trying to cast the entire time.Last edited by toledo; 10-29-2024, 06:09 AM.

Maybe it improves. I’ll be pulling for that.

Buddy, I’m not trying to **** in your Cheerios, but it’s 6-8ft Saturday, 7-9ft Sunday. Those deckhands and captains need to go fish to put food on the table. They won’t tell you no. But no way in hell would I be stepping foot on that boat. Someone is likely to get hurt.
Maybe it improves. I’ll be pulling for that.
Also, people paid a lot of money for this trip and have had it planned a long time. Being optimistic is best IMO.. If Thursday night gets here and it's really bad waves they'll figure out something.
