I agree.... Works ok just searching around. But any time i back out of a thread and go to another topic its gets slow... Also anytime i comment or quote it takes forever. Or errors out.

To stand firm that nothing needs to be done is astonishing to me. Nothing wrong with membership making donations to bring in expertise in database tuning, architecture and overall site functionality tweaks. I have seen it done for years on sports sites that are free and do annual donation periods to keep the sites free.

I would be willing to pitch in. Sometimes the site is very fast like the old times, that’s mostly during early morning times like 0400. During the afternoons it seems to drag no matter what features I am trying to use. It’s got me where I use it about a 1/4 of the time I used to be on here.

Doing a little research, it kinda looks like $25/hr might be a place to start. I’m not rich by any means, but if so, this is an offer to pay for the first two hours, 5x the cost for a sticker. I just need a way to donate and an assurance that the money is going to go to fixing the site. There are already a few people on here that say they’re willing to chip in, but I bet if the owner or a mod made a thread and gave us a way to donate the response would be overwhelming.

This has been my experience as well. If I thought paying $10 to become a supporting member would fix the site I would’ve done it weeks ago. As it is, it’s going to take an organized effort to get donations set aside directly for IT work. If that comes about, I’m in.

$25 hr is not even close for expertise in data driven dynamic web sites with huge databases. Multiple that by 4 or 5 and you might be getting close.

I have to wonder why some seem to have constant problems. I get on daily, multiple times a day on a PC but have used the phone just to check things out. I have no problems 99% of the time. Are things perfect and the way Michael and staff want them, no but they will get there I believe. I can get messages, close classified threads, etc. I'm not trying to be a smart aleck but truly curious why all the problems for some.

I can’t get the site to work/load as many times as I can get it to work! I’m really frustrated with how it is now, but there is nothing I can do about it.
